A we-inspiring — that was the atmosphere inside “Heritage in Every Frame” at Centro de Turismo Intramuros Manila, where culture wasn’t just being shown—it was being reimagined in real time. The idea felt simple but powerful: what if heritage didn’t stay still in frames, but stepped forward, breathed, and unfolded like a living canvas?

At the center of the experience was a new way of seeing familiar things. Screens here weren’t treated as screens. They felt more like illuminated windows—framing art not as something distant or archived, but something present, almost tangible. The boundary between artwork and environment quietly dissolved.

Timed with the Philippines’ 128th Independence Day, the showcase carried a deeper resonance. The works of National Artist Fernando Amorsolo—known for their warmth, light, and rural intimacy—were given subtle motion, not to reinvent them, but to let them breathe. Sunlight shifted gently, fields seemed to hum with life, and still moments carried a soft sense of time passing.

“The TCL A400 Series represents our vision of what home entertainment can become, not simply a device for viewing content, but a centerpiece that enhances the living space even when not in use,” says Peter Chen.

Across the space, the experience felt immersive in a quiet way—less exhibition, more atmosphere. Carabao Riding in Sunset held its golden stillness like a fading memory. Noonday Meal felt grounded and human, a pause in the middle of labor. Tinikling introduced rhythm and movement, almost audible in its energy. Dalagang Bukid softened everything with rural grace, while The Blind Man, Fruit Market, and Bataan added emotional depth—layers of resilience, everyday life, and history woven into one visual flow.

Through the luminous clarity of the display, these works didn’t feel contained—they felt expanded. Color felt deeper, light felt more dimensional, and each painting seemed to extend just slightly beyond its frame, as if the room itself had become part of the artwork.

That sense of motion and atmosphere was shaped by digital animator Mark Cañega, who approached the project with restraint. His focus wasn’t transformation, but translation—turning suggestion into subtle movement while preserving the emotional stillness of Amorsolo’s world.

He shared, “Animating the masterpieces of National Artist Fernando Amorsolo is an incredible honor and a unique technical challenge. His paintings are not static; they are vibrant snapshots of moving wind, flowing rivers, and rural Filipino life. To honor his legacy, we ensured the animation feels like a moving canvas rather than a cartoon. Every frame is carefully optimized to preserve Amorsolo’s signature use of glowing sunlight and warm colors, matching the beautiful texture of the original oil paintings perfectly on the TCL A400 screen.”

First impressions from Heaven captured that moment of disbelief:

“At first, I didn’t even realize I was looking at a television—I thought it was an actual painting. The screen captures the texture, details, and raw emotion so flawlessly that the essence of the original artwork remains intact. It truly captures humanity, reflecting the remarkable endurance of Filipinos during those times.”

And for Chelsea Manalo, it felt like a quiet merging of worlds:

“The TCL A400 Series brings a modern touch to the museum experience. It seamlessly integrates with today’s technology, effectively bridging our rich culture and heritage with modern innovation. In fact, when you look at the TV, it doesn’t even feel like a typical piece of modern technology—it blends in like a piece of art.”
