CITY OF SAN FERNANDO, Pampanga — Police arrested the suspect in the killing of a former barangay kagawad in Hermosa, Bataan, during an operation late Friday, 26 June.
Bataan Police Provincial Office Director Col. Marites Salvadora identified the suspect as Alvin Vitangcol, 46, a resident of Barangay Malipangpang in San Ildefonso, Bulacan.
Police said Vitangcol allegedly ambushed and shot dead former Barangay Culis kagawad Norman Dalit, 42, in front of the victim’s residence in Sitio Maligaya, Hermosa, on Friday before fleeing aboard a white Toyota Tamaraw.
A composite team from the Hermosa Municipal Police Station, Pampanga police units, and other law enforcement personnel tracked down and arrested the suspect in Barangay San Juan, City of San Fernando.
