First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos visited the OFW Hospital in Barangay Sindalan, City of San Fernando, Pampanga on Wednesday to kick off the three-day “Kalinga ni Nanay Surgical and Medical Mission.”
The initiative, led by Nanay Partylist and the Makati Medical Center Foundation, welcomed the First Lady with partylist Representative Florabel Yatco. Pampanga Governor Lilia “Nanay” Pineda and Vice Governor Dennis “Delta” Pineda accompanied her during the visit.
Volunteer doctors from the Makati Medical Center Foundation will provide medical services to 1,141 patients with financial constraints. Among them, 131 are scheduled for major operations, 392 for minor procedures, 327 for eye check-ups and free glasses, and 292 will receive dental services.
The Provincial Government of Pampanga, with support from Nanay Community Workers and Executive Assistant IV Angelina Blanco, identified the beneficiaries, who underwent initial assessments and clearance through Nanay Partylist and the Makati Medical Center Foundation.
The program goes beyond surgeries, providing free post-operative medicines and Nanay Hygiene Kits to ensure continuous care and recovery for every patient.
Governor Pineda expressed her gratitude to the Nanay Partylist for supporting Kapampangans in need, while Health Secretary Teodoro Herbosa, DMW Secretary Hans Leo Cacdac, OWWA Administrator Patricia Yvonne Caunan and other local officials also voiced their support for the mission.
