A police officer who went missing for seven days was found dead inside a septic tank at the yard of an alleged drug personality in Barangay Mojon, Malolos City, Bulacan on 31 January 2026.
The victim was identified as Police Staff Sergeant Renato Casauay Jr., a 46-year-old resident of Sta. Barbara, Baliuag City, Bulacan. He was first reported missing by his wife, Anabelle Casauay, on 25 January 2026.
Initial investigation indicated that Casauay went to the house where an argument occurred, which led to a shooting incident. Some suspects reportedly threw his body into the septic tank, which was discovered during a manhunt operation for the alleged drug personality.
The suspect has been arrested and is currently in the custody of the Malolos City Police Station.
Police are investigating the motive for the crime, the identities of other individuals involved, and whether charges will be filed against the owner of the compound.
