Former Senator Kiko Pangilinan, in a rally at the Malolos City Hall Amphitheater on April 8, appealed for support, emphasizing his principles and track record over the massive spending of political rivals in the race for Senate.
“I am here today, kneeling and asking for your support… Let’s prove together that our principles and our stand can stand against the billions spent by our rivals,” Pangilinan said in Filipino.
The former senator, who earlier campaigned in Bocaue, Malolos, and Sta. Maria, outlined his plans, including advancing the Sagip Saka Act to support farmers and lower food prices, and his "Libreng Almusal" program to provide free breakfast to public school students from kindergarten to senior high school.
"For my free breakfast program, we will use half of the school feeding budget to buy fresh and nutritious food directly from our farmers and fishermen," Pangilinan explained.
Highlighting his commitment to integrity, he reminded voters of his clean record, stating, “I have never been involved in corruption cases, despite the temptations I faced early in my career.”
Pangilinan also reflected on his sacrifice during the 2022 elections, prioritizing the country’s future over his own ambitions. “I want my children to grow up in a prosperous nation, and I want that for all Filipinos,” he said.
In closing, he reiterated his commitment to working across political divides, saying, “Food should be a right, not a privilege. We are ready to collaborate with anyone to lower food prices.”
