The Cebu Provincial School Board (PSB), chaired by Governor Pamela Baricuatro, approved Monday the procurement of school supplies for Department of Education (DepEd) learners in the province for the 2026 school year.

The items approved for procurement include school bags, pad paper, notebooks, pens, pencils, crayons, rulers and sandals.

It is also considering providing tumblers and document bags for teachers, should funding allow.

Provincial Treasurer Atty. Roy Salubre reported that the school board has a substantial fund balance of over P1.143 billion as of 27 November 2025.

However, the board was unable to finalize the exact budget allocation because the DepEd Cebu Provincial Division has yet to determine the actual number of enrollees for the next school year.

DepEd Cebu Provincial School Superintendent Dr. Senen Priscillo P. Paulin cited that available data shows 886,711 enrollees this year, with enrollment typically projected to increase by 10 percent annually.
