An Aurora tourist police officer saved a 10-year-old boy from drowning in Sabang Beach, Baler, Aurora, on 31 October 2025.
According to the Aurora Tourist Police Unit, PMSg Jeffrey T. Delos Santos and other tourist police officers were giving safety instructions to visitors who were seen swimming in an area with a rip current.
The group later noticed that a child had been swept away by a strong current.
Relatives attempted to rescue the boy and were able to help him float, but they could not move him out of the seawater due to the strong current.
Using a surfboard, PMSg Delos Santos paddled toward the boy and his relatives and helped them move offshore.
The victim, a 10-year-old male resident of San Luis, Aurora, was later identified and assessed to determine whether medical consultation was necessary.
