While their relationship has stood the test of time for the past three years, actress Lexi Gonzales revealed that tying the knot with longtime boyfriend Gil Cuerva is still far from their current priorities.

In a candid interview on Fast Talk with Boy Abunda, the Kapuso star opened up about the status of her romance with Gil when host Boy Abunda asked, “Lexi, nasaan kayo ngayon ni Gil in the context of marriage?”

Lexi responded with honesty:

“I think we’re far, Tito Boy. We’re far from [thinking about] marriage, although we want our relationship to go somewhere, definitely, but I think we’re just at a place right now where hindi pa namin kaya.”

The actress emphasized that while their relationship is solid, both she and Gil understand that they’re not quite ready to take the next big step—and that’s perfectly okay.

Joining Lexi in the interview was her Cruz vs Cruz co-star Kristoffer Martin, who plays her older brother in the primetime series. Kristoffer, now a married man himself, offered heartfelt advice to Lexi:

“Wag pilitin. Darating.”

He elaborated by sharing his own experience:

“Ganyan din kami nung asawa ko. Akala namin ready na kaming pakasal before, hindi pa pala. Hinayaan lang namin. May mga bagay na kailangan dumating o mangyari para mas makita n’yo ‘yung importance n’yo sa isa’t isa. Kung kayo talaga, kayo talaga.”

The conversation took a reflective turn when Boy asked both stars a thought-provoking question: “Can you be faithful in this business that can be really intimate?”

Without hesitation, Lexi answered:

“Yeah, definitely. When you have loyalty and you know that that person is really important to you, then I wouldn’t do anything that would hurt them.”

Kristoffer echoed her sentiment, adding a spiritual layer to his perspective:

“Ngayon masasabi ko, ay kaya ko. Ngayon takot ako kay Lord. Yung pagiging loyal ko, sa kanya na at kay Lord. Nase-segregate ko na talaga yung work sa relationship namin.”
