The Department of Tourism (DOT) lauded the Mactan-Cebu International Airport (MCIA) after it earned the title for the 7th most improved airport worldwide in 2025 by Skytrax.
Skytrax, a renowned global airline review organization recognized as a benchmark in the aviation industry, praised the airport for its ongoing improvements in passenger experience, infrastructure, and service quality.
According to DOT, this serves as their recognition to the continuous hard work to provide convenient and effective service to airport passengers, including MCIA which is the country's main gateway.
Skytrax also acknowledged Mactan Airport for its service and security reforms, including enhanced passenger flow through the Cebu Correct program, focused at ensuring safer and more comfortable flights.
"This global recognition affirms the Marcos Administration’s commitment to seamless travel and cements Cebu’s position as a premier international and domestic tourism hub," DoT wrote in their caption.
