The Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) raised a third alarm Sunday after a fire broke out at San Francisco High School in Barangay Bagong Pag-asa, damaging at least 20 classrooms and the school library.
The blaze, which occurred near a shopping mall, destroyed books and papers inside the affected classrooms used by grade 9 and 10 students, BFP Chief of Operations Major Marvin Mari said.
The Cubao Zion Fire and Rescue Volunteer group reported the fire had engulfed multiple classrooms in a main school building, with thick smoke and intense heat hampering firefighting efforts.
Firefighters brought the fire under control within 30 minutes. The BFP is investigating the cause and assessing total damage.
