Sugar Mercado has stepped into a new spotlight — this time as a beauty queen. The former Sexbomb Dancer was officially crowned Mrs. Philippines Universe 2025, earning the right to represent the country at the Mrs. Universe pageant in October.
Mercado stood out among the candidates, also receiving the Strongest Photo Award and the title of Darling of the Press, underscoring her strong presence both on and off camera.
In a post following her coronation, Mercado thanked her supporters and reflected on the significance of her win. “Maraming salamat po sa pagkakataon at tiwala… Kaya ko palang maging queen kahit isa na akong ina,” she wrote, dedicating the crown to her children, family, and team — including mentor Wilbert Tolentino, Herlene “Hipon Girl” Budol, and Madam Inutz.
The victory marks a new chapter for Mercado, who first rose to fame through entertainment and was previously linked to host Willie Revillame. Today, she embraces a new identity — one grounded in motherhood, self-worth, and resilience.
“Sa mga taong naniniwala at hindi naniniwala na kaya ko — kasama kayo lahat sa korona ko,” she wrote, echoing the resilience of a queen who rose not from privilege, but perseverance.
