Masters of the World Philippines 2025 title holder, Prince Jefrey Hernandez said beauty pageants are no longer limited to women, as society is now more open to male competitions.
Speaking on DAILY TRIBUNE's episode of Spotlight, Hernandez said it is no longer “weird” for men to join beauty pageants, noting that more men are now interested in participating.
“Surprisingly, they’re very excited. They really want to be in the spotlight because it’s connected to social media. Everybody wants to be famous. So this is one of the best platforms,” he said.
Hernandez pointed out that male pageantry can stand out internationally since the Philippines is already recognized as a powerhouse in female beauty pageants.
“The good thing is even male groups can stand out because they’re already famous,” he added.
The 38-year-old beauty king, who turns 39 this September, also proved that beauty routines are for everyone as he shared his personal regimen.
“Honestly, you really need to sleep a lot, at least eight hours, minimum, up to 11 or 12. And drink a lot of fluids, especially water. You don’t need to skip on hydration,” he said.
As the owner of Royal Prince Aesthetic Clinics, Hernandez stressed the importance of professional skin care.
“You really have to visit the clinic at least once a week or once a month for cleaning. Because of pollution right now, and even the food we eat can affect our looks. If you eat healthy food, you glow naturally,” he said.
As a businessman, his advocacy aligns with his identity, encouraging people to turn their talents into income.
“My advocacy is to empower the younger generation to transform their talent or hobby into a profession so they can earn money. Because I’m into business,” he explained.
Speaking from experience, Hernandez gave advice as both a businessman and beauty pageant titleholder who did not come from a wealthy family.
“I was not born rich, so what I used to strive on was the bashing,” he said, concluding, “Never stop dreaming. It won’t be easy. But as long as you have a goal in life, you can achieve it.”
