A quiet tension runs through the trailer of Si Sol at si Luna, the latest digital series set to captivate Filipino audiences. Former child stars Zaijian Jaranilla and Jane Oineza step into emotionally complex roles, telling a story about love that challenges time and expectations.

The series follows Sol, a passionate film student working on his thesis, whose world shifts after meeting Luna — a woman still picking up the pieces of a shattered heart. What starts as a brief encounter evolves into something deeper, complicated by an age gap that neither of them can ignore.

The series is helmed by Direk Dolly Dulu, whose keen eye for emotional nuance was previously showcased in The Boy Foretold by the Stars. In this latest project, Dolly creates a visual and narrative tapestry that explores longing, grief, and the transformative nature of connection.

Originally pitched for the 2025 CinePanalo Film Festival, Si Sol at si Luna didn’t make the final lineup. But its emotional pull led Puregold to back it as a full digital series, giving the story space to unfold online.

“I’m deeply grateful for the chance to bring Si Sol at si Luna to screens,” said Dolly. “Ang saya ko lang talaga, especially since it will be accessible to everyone on YouTube. It’s exciting that this is the first series exploring deeper emotional themes under this banner.”

The trailer teases scenes of quiet intensity and strong performances — including what could be Zaijian Jaranilla’s most mature scene yet. The relationship dynamic between Sol and Luna dares to go where most Filipino series have not, diving headfirst into questions of morality, timing, and emotional compatibility.

Ivy Hayagan-Piedad, senior marketing executive on the project, said the pitch stood out from the start.

“Great stories have a way of finding their audience — no matter the path. Direk Dolly’s pitch moved us from the beginning, and we’re proud to give it the platform it deserves, she said.”

This series joins a growing roster of critically and commercially successful Filipino web series, following the likes of My Plantito, 52 Weeks, and Ang Lalaki sa Likod ng Profile. With its bold premise and strong creative team, Si Sol at si Luna could be the most emotionally resonant yet.

The premiere drops on 31 May, Saturday at 7 PM on YouTube, with new episodes every Saturday. For viewers ready for something more grounded and emotionally layered, Si Sol at si Luna offers a story worth sitting with.
