Discayas help Pasig tricycle drivers

The St. Gerrard Construction Charity Foundation, led by philanthropist couple Curlee and Sarah Discaya, on Friday provided long-sleeve shirts and rice packs to tricycle drivers and operators in Pasig City.
Reynaldo Eusebio, who is not related to the political Eusebio family, president of Partoda (Parancillo Tricycle Operators and Drivers Association) who ply the Kapasigan to Pasig public market, Malinao, Bambang, and Sumilang routes, asked the Discayas to continue helping the poor and needy, especially if Sarah wins as mayor of Pasig in the midterm elections.
“Our message to Ate Sarah, who will be our next mayor, I hope she continues to help her fellow Pasigueños. We will give our full support to her in the elections,” Eusebio said in an interview.
He also urged Discaya, should she win, to coordinate with neighboring cities to allow them to ply routes outside Pasig.
“I hope she coordinates with Taguig and Pateros so we can get in there,” Eusebio said.
He said the Discayas’ foundation has been helping tricycle drivers and operators for some time.
“They have been helping us since last year. They’ve provided us with medical assistance, grocery packs, and much more,” Eusebio said.

If elected mayor, Discaya vowed to uplift the lives of TODA (tricycle drivers and operators associations) members by giving faster and more affordable franchise renewals, free insurance and health cards for all tricycle drivers, modern waiting sheds, a dedicated terminal in every barangay, waterless urinals at each terminal, and free motor oil for legitimate TODA members every two months.
