A pancake vendor from Barangay San Jose, Pasig City, on Thursday expressed her gratitude to Sarah Discaya and Curlee Discaya of St. Gerrard Construction Charity Foundation for providing her with a rolling food cart.

“I’m so thankful to Ate Sarah and Kuya Curlee because they gave me a food cart that I can use for my livelihood,” Arleene Peñalosa told DAILY TRIBUNE in an interview during the simple turnover of the food cart at the St. Gerrard Construction Charity Foundation office in Barangay Bambang.

“I am already a senior citizen, but we still need to earn money because we don’t have parents anymore, and I still have a child who is studying. Maybe they saw my eagerness to have a livelihood, so they helped me,” Peñalosa said.

The elderly pancake vendor shared that the Discaya couple had been helping her for a long time.

“To my fellow Pasigueños, let’s try something new. They’re already helping, even though they don’t hold government positions. It’s not true that they would take back the money they used to help people. This is a foundation, not a government agency,” she said.

“We are fortunate that we have Kuya Curlee and Ate Sarah who help us Pasigueños,” she added.
