SEC and Isabela conduct investor education seminar

Students, youth sector members and provincial government employees attended a free seminar on personal finance and investment scams at the Isabela Provincial Capitol Amphitheater on 5 November.

The Securities and Exchange Commission Ilagan Extension Office organized the event with the Provincial Government of Isabela through its Provincial Youth Development Office. Titled “To Investing and Beyond: You’ve Got a Friend in Investor Education,” the seminar aimed to promote informed and responsible investing.

Sessions covered practical approaches to spending, saving, investing and protecting personal finances, as well as how to identify and avoid fraudulent investment schemes.

Organizers encouraged participants to make careful financial decisions and remain alert to scams that could put their savings at risk.
