Around 455 new privates have completed the Candidate Soldier Course (CSC) at Camp O’Donnell in the town of Capas, Tarlac on 23 October 2026, reinforcing the military strength of the Philippines.

According to the Philippine Army (PA), the School for Candidate Soldier, Initial Military Training Group, Education and Training Command (ETC) has conducted the Closing Ceremony of CSC Classes 808 and 809-2026, marking the successful completion of military training of the 455 new privates.

The ceremony was graced by Major General Ronel R. Manalo PA, Commander of the Armor Division, PA, as Guest of Honor and Speaker (GOHAS).

In his message, he emphasized the importance of discipline, commitment, and dedication to duty as the newly trained soldiers begin their journey in military service. He reminded them that becoming a soldier entails not only fulfilling their duties but also upholding the trust and confidence of the Filipino people.

As the Philippine Army recalibrates its operational focus from Internal Security Operations (ISO) to Territorial Defense Operations (TDO), ETC plays a vital role in building a disciplined, capable, and adaptable force.

Through rigorous military training, the Command equips new soldiers with the foundational skills, values, and competencies necessary to support evolving operational requirements and contribute to territorial defense.

Anchored on its command philosophy, “Train to Win: Train as One, Win as One,” ETC remains committed to producing mission-ready soldiers who embody professionalism, unity, and dedication to duty, strengthening the Philippine Army’s readiness to defend the nation and serve the Filipino people.

“Join us in congratulating our 455 new privates! Share your words of encouragement and support as they take on the challenges and responsibilities of military service, upholding discipline, honor, and dedication to the Filipino people.”
