Two minors rescued after creek incident


Two minors were discharged from the hospital after allegedly jumping into a creek near Bernardo Park in Barangay Pinagkaisahan, Quezon City.
The Quezon City Police District (QCPD) reported that the two minors were promptly rescued by personnel of Kamuning Police Station with assistance from the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) on Friday.
They were seen by residents at the creek with injuries, unable to move.
After receiving a report from the Office of Barangay Pinagkaisahan, personnel of Kamuning Police Station immediately proceeded to the area and coordinated with the BFP for the rescue operation.
The two minors were safely retrieved from the creek and brought to East Avenue Medical Center for medical evaluation and appropriate treatment.
The female minor was discharged at approximately 5:40 p.m., while the male minor was discharged at 6:12 p.m. on the same date.
Authorities reported that the minors, who are schoolmates, were subsequently turned over to their respective guardians.
“The QCPD is conducting a thorough investigation to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident. Coordination with the concerned authorities and the minors’ respective guardians is also being undertaken to ensure that their safety, welfare and appropriate support are properly addressed,” the QCPD stated.
