Five arrested, over 54 grams of suspected shabu seized in Pangasinan

Five suspects were arrested and a total of 54.22 grams of suspected shabu with an estimated street value of P368,696 were seized in separate buy-bust operations conducted by police in five Pangasinan towns from late Sunday night to early Monday morning.
The operations were conducted by the Balungao, Mangatarem, Mapandan, Calasiao and Sual municipal police stations in coordination with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency Region 1.
In Balungao, police arrested a 19-year-old married man, an employee of SM Rosales and resident of Rosales, at around 11 p.m. on September 20. Authorities seized 0.18 gram of suspected shabu valued at P1,224, along with P100 buy-bust money and P1,000 boodle money.
In Mangatarem, a 49-year-old unemployed married man and resident of the municipality was arrested at around 12:26 a.m. on September 21. Police recovered 0.30 gram of suspected shabu worth P2,040 contained in two sachets, as well as P500 buy-bust money.
A 30-year-old construction worker from Mangaldan was also arrested in Mapandan at around 12:06 a.m. Police seized 0.10 gram of suspected shabu valued at P680 from the suspect, along with P500 in marked money.
The largest seizure was recorded in Calasiao, where police arrested a 26-year-old unemployed resident of the municipality at around 1 a.m. Authorities recovered 13.64 grams of suspected shabu with an estimated value of P92,752, contained in three sachets. Police also seized P500 buy-bust money and P1,000 boodle money.
In Sual, a 27-year-old unemployed resident was arrested at around 3:45 a.m. after a buy-bust operation. Police seized 40 grams of suspected shabu valued at P272,000, contained in a tied transparent plastic and a heat-sealed sachet.
Also recovered in the Sual operation were P500 buy-bust money, P6,500 in boodle money, an Infinix cellphone, a paper container and a black Rusi motorcycle without a plate number.
Police said the seized items in all five operations were inventoried and marked at the respective scenes in the presence of the suspects and mandatory witnesses, as required by law.
The suspects are expected to face charges for violations of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, based on the respective police operations.
