Authorities arrested two men and seized an estimated P2.397 million worth of petroleum products, equipment and vehicles during an operation against illegal fuel sales in Barangay San Rafael on Thursday.

The operation was led by the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) Tarlac Provincial Field Unit, with support from the Tarlac City Police Station and the Tarlac Police Provincial Office Intelligence Unit.

Police caught the two suspects, including a 28-year-old man, allegedly selling diesel without the required permit or license from the Department of Energy. A third individual, identified in police reports as a site proprietor, remains at large.

Law enforcement of ficers recovered approximately 8,000 liters of diesel from a fuel tanker and an additional 200 liters from a drum.

Authorities also confiscated fuel pumps, hoses and related equipment, while placing a tractor head and the fuel tanker into police custody.

The raid was carried out under the Philippine National Police’s Enhanced Managing Police Operations framework, which focuses on coordinated intelligence and enforcement to ensure commercial compliance with national laws.

The suspects and confiscated evidence were brought to the CIDG Tarlac office for processing. Complaints are currently being prepared for filing before the Tarlac City Prosecutor’s Office.

Police assured that the suspects will be afforded due process as legal proceedings move forward.
