NAGA CITY – Two suspected drug pushers were arrested in a joint anti-drug operation conducted by the local police and Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency on Tuesday, 15 September, in Daraga town in Albay province.

The Philippine National Police Region 5 said in a statement Wednesday, 16 September, “Vince,” and “Ron” were arrested in the operation in Barangay Bagumbayan at around 10:40 p.m.

The suspects yielded three heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets containing suspected “shabu” (methamphetamine hydrochloride) with a combined weight of 5.3 grams and an estimated standard drug price of P36,040.

Records from the Investigation Solutions Automatic Verification (ISAV) also showed that “Vince” had a previous record for reckless imprudence resulting in damage to property dated 4 November, also in Daraga, Albay.

The suspects were taken into custody by the Daraga police and will be facing charges for violating Republic Act NO. 9165 or the “Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.”
