The Commission on Elections (COMELEC) has expressed confidence that the inaugural parliamentary elections in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) will proceed without any failure of polls.

COMELEC Chairperson George Garcia assured the public on Monday that no election paraphernalia had been lost or destroyed.

While acknowledging that some materials might face minor compromises, he emphasized that there would be no sweeping disruptions. He also noted that security incidents in the region have not reached a severity that would prevent citizens from casting their votes.

The poll body confirmed that all vote-counting machines have successfully cleared final testing and sealing before deployment across all 5,212 polling precincts in the region.

Highlighting the gravity of the event, Bangsamoro Parliament Speaker Yacob hailed the polls as a "defining chapter in the history of the Bangsamoro" as the region takes its historic steps toward establishing its first elected parliamentary government.
