1. Fitterkarma is finally dropping its debut album
The wait is almost over. After building a following with its dark and atmospheric sound, fitterkarma will release its debut album on 9 September, marking a major milestone for the rising alternative act.
2. They’re taking their sound to the Metropolitan Theater
Just days after the album release, fitterkarma will stage a one-night orchestral concert at the Metropolitan Theater Manila on 19 September.
The band will be joined by The Manila String Machine, bringing its alternative rock sound together with live strings for what promises to be a more cinematic take on its music.
3. The announcement came with a very creepy clue
Fitterkarma announced the concert with the cryptic line, “Kung tayo’y nasa isang horror na pelikula, tiyak ako ang una mong papatayin.”
The lyric appears at the end of the music video for the band’s latest single, “maryclaire,” giving fans a chilling hint about what was coming next.
And, naturally, the band’s concert poster followed suit.
4. The horror aesthetic is very much alive
The concert poster looks like it was pulled straight from a Filipino horror film. Set inside an eerie colonial-era room, it features a veiled woman in white standing at the center of the unsettling scene.
It’s perfectly on-brand for fitterkarma, whose music and visuals often explore dark urban imagery alongside elements of Philippine folklore.
5. Meet the band behind the sound
Formed in 2023, fitterkarma currently consists of Joao de Leon on vocals and guitar, Sophia Miranda on bass, Sanders Bayas on drums, and Mikee Mendoza on guitar.
With breakout tracks such as “Kalapastangan” and “Pag-Ibig ay Kanibalismo II” continuing to chart in the Philippines, fitterkarma has quickly established itself as one of the country’s rising indie acts.
