OMODA & JAECOO Philippines has introduced the JAECOO J5 HEV and J5 EV in Cebu, which gives customers in Central Visayas a choice between hybrid and fully electric power.
The J5 HEV costs P1.179 million, while the J5 EV carries a price of P1.469 million in Cebu. Both models were on display at SM Seaside City Cebu with public test drives available during the event.
The hybrid model uses JAECOO’s Super Hybrid System. It is aimed at buyers who want lower fuel use and some electric driving without depending on charging stations for every trip.
Its gasoline engine and electric system work together for city travel and longer drives. The J5 HEV also comes with the brand’s Smart Cockpit, driver assistance systems and other safety features.
Customers who are prepared to shift to a battery-powered vehicle can consider the J5 EV. The electric SUV has a claimed range of 461 kilometers based on the New European Driving Cycle standard.
JAECOO also cites a 539.2-kilometer result from an endurance drive observed by the Automobile Association Philippines. Actual range can vary according to speed, traffic, weather, road conditions and use of the air-conditioning system.
The EV shares its basic SUV format and cabin technology with the hybrid. Buyers also receive a complimentary seven-kilowatt wall charger, which can be installed at home where the required electrical connection is available.
OMODA & JAECOO Philippines has paired the Cebu introduction with a limited-time ownership package valued at P49,800. Existing owners may receive a P10,000 loyalty incentive when they buy another vehicle.
New buyers may also qualify for a P10,000 referral incentive. The customer who made the referral will receive two complimentary maintenance services.
The package includes one year of preventive maintenance and one year of roadside assistance.
Owners also receive three years of access to the applicable mobile remote vehicle control service. Terms and eligibility requirements apply to the incentives and services.
Battery condition is covered by the company’s State of Health warranty. OMODA & JAECOO Philippines said it will replace a battery without charge if its state of health falls below 70 percent within the applicable warranty period.
The policy covers the company’s vehicle lineup, although the length and specific terms of the warranty may differ by model. Buyers should check the written coverage before completing a purchase.
The HEV suits motorists who frequently take longer trips or have limited access to a charger. The EV offers petrol-free travel and home charging, with its quoted range enough to cover several days of typical city use for many drivers.
