Davao City —- SM Supermalls Davao announced a monthlong schedule of activities across its local properties on Monday to mark this year’s Kadayawan Festival celebrations.

Russel Alaba, senior assistant vice president for marketing operations at SM Supermalls Mindanao, detailed the events planned for both SM Lanang Premier and SM City Davao.

“As part of the Kadayawan celebration, SM Supermalls Davao will have activities which enhance fusion of culture, music, food, endless finds and many more in both malls,” Alaba said.

Athletic events include the Singlife Davao Marathon, an international-standard road race scheduled for 15 August on an out-and-back course at the SM Lanang North Wing grounds. SM City Davao will host the Rise and Run community run on 9 August, starting at the Annex Active Zone in front of Starbucks.

Cultural programming includes presentations by Davao City’s 11 tribes during the Hiyas sa Kadayawan Cultural Presentation on 9 August at the SM City Davao Annex Event Center. The venue will also host the Davao Junior Fashion Designers Southern Weave Fashion Show on 16 August.

Shopping and trade events include the SM Supermalls Kadayawan Sale from 10 to 16 August. Local products will be showcased at the Makers Market from 6 to 10 August and the Homegrown: Kadayawan Special Pop-Up from 15 to 18 August at the SM Lanang Atrium, alongside a Kultura Pop-Up running 8 to 18 August at the SM City Davao Main Mall Atrium.

Agricultural events highlighting local produce feature the Durian Festival at SM Lanang from 7 August to 11 September and the Kadayawan Agri-Trade Fair at SM City Davao from 12 to 31 August.
