Actress Rita Avila shared an emotional revelation on Facebook after disclosing that her husband, director FM Reyes, figured in a serious accident while she was attending a promotional event for the ABS-CBN series Someone, Someday.

According to Rita, Reyes was injured after a grinder accidentally fell on his wrist, leaving her deeply worried even as she fulfilled her work commitments.

“So habang may event kami para sa promo ng ‘Someone, Someday’ nung lunes, naaksidente naman ang asawa kong direktor na si FM Reyes. Bumagsak sa kamay niya ang grinder sa may wrist,” she wrote.

The actress admitted that although she appeared cheerful throughout the event, she was silently carrying the weight of the frightening incident.

“Smile smile ako sa event pero ung isip ko ay nag-aalala,” she shared, before appealing to the public to be more understanding of artists who may not always seem approachable.

“Kaya wag kayong malupit sa artista kung hindi nakangiti o nakakaway sa inyo, minsan may dinaramdam din kami.”

Rita also revealed how close the accident came to becoming a tragedy, saying the injury narrowly missed major blood vessels that could have claimed her husband’s life.

“Isang hibla ang layo sa mga ugat na pwedeng ikamatay ng asawa ko,” she wrote.

After the event, she immediately rushed to the hospital to be with Reyes, who later underwent surgery.

“Sugod ako sa ospital matapos ang event. Inoperahan siya at ngayo’y nagpapagaling na.”

Despite the terrifying ordeal, Rita expressed gratitude that her husband’s operation was successful and that he is now on the road to recovery. Her heartfelt post has since drawn messages of support and prayers from fans and fellow celebrities.
