Philippine Army Commanding General Lt. Gen. Antonio G. Nafarrete reaffirmed his commitment to modernizing the Armor "Pambato" Division as it celebrated its 50th founding anniversary at Camp O'Donnell in Capas, Tarlac.
Addressing troops during the celebration, Nafarrete commended the division for embracing new technologies and investing in facilities, equipment and personnel to keep pace with modern warfare.
Armor Division Commander Maj. Gen. Ronel R. Manalo highlighted the unit's transformation from a Light Armor Regiment into a full Armor Division capable of commanding tanks, mechanized infantry and cavalry units in support of the country's external defense mission.
Nafarrete said the division's evolution reflects the Philippine Army's strategic shift from internal security operations to territorial and external defense, adding that modernization efforts will continue to strengthen the Army's ability to address emerging security challenges and protect national sovereignty.
