Philippine Army Chief Lt. Gen. Antonio G. Nafarrete praised the Special Forces Regiment (Airborne) for its 64 years of military service during a founding anniversary ceremony Thursday at Fort Magsaysay in Nueva Ecija province.
Serving as the event’s guest speaker, Nafarrete highlighted the bravery and resolve of the regiment’s troopers, commending their history of quiet professionalism.
“Silent as you may be, your Philippine Army still hears you loud and clear, and we listen,” Nafarrete said. “We fully support you and your efforts as we face the challenges of the future.”
Nafarrete stressed that the regiment’s six decades of specialized operations capabilities remain critical to navigating the military’s changing combat environments.
During the ceremony, the Army presented awards for exemplary service to various officers, enlisted personnel, retired soldiers, reservists, civilian employees, and external stakeholders.
In a separate event, the Philippine Army joined the Embassy of South Korea and the Philippine Expeditionary Force to Korea Veterans Association to mark the 76th commemoration of the Korean War.
