Japanese entertainer YUKIPOYO is expanding her musical reach with a collaboration that shines a spotlight on Filipino talent, enlisting rising rapper Zae for a Tagalog remix of her latest single, “Te-Te Gyaru.”
The cross-cultural project brings together two artists making waves in their respective scenes. Zae has emerged as one of the Philippines’ fastest-rising hip-hop acts, drawing more than 580,000 monthly listeners on Spotify and earning acclaim through her collaboration with Hev Abi on “SUBOMOTO REMIX,” which received a Hip-Hop Song of the Year nomination at the inaugural Filipino Music Awards in 2025.
Both artists are currently in Manila filming the official music video for “Te-Te Gyaru (feat. Zae) [Tagalog Ver.],” which will accompany the remix’s upcoming release.
The original version of “Te-Te Gyaru” is now available on major streaming platforms worldwide. Produced by Tokyo-based hitmaker XLII, the track blends energetic beats, experimental production, and YUKIPOYO’s confident rap delivery, reflecting her evolution from fashion icon and television personality into a versatile recording artist.
Ahead of its release, the song generated impressive online buzz, with preview clips amassing a combined 4 million views on TikTok and 1.52 million views on Instagram. Its promotional visuals also quickly gained tens of thousands of engagements on X, underscoring the growing excitement surrounding YUKIPOYO’s music and her modern take on Japan’s iconic gal culture.
With Zae lending her unmistakable style to the Tagalog version, the collaboration highlights the growing creative exchange between Japan and the Philippines while introducing both artists to even wider audiences across Asia.
