The Police Regional Office 1 (PRO 1) seized nearly P8.94 million worth of illegal drugs and accounted for 239 loose firearms across the Ilocos Region during separate law enforcement operations conducted throughout June.
In a report released Thursday, PRO 1 said it carried out 152 anti-drug operations from June 1 to 30, leading to the arrest of 170 individuals and the confiscation of illegal drugs with a total estimated value of P8,940,267.60.
Authorities seized 1,043.17 grams of shabu, 134.76 grams of dried marijuana leaves, three marijuana sticks, and 9,152 marijuana plants.
Among the major operations were three marijuana eradication activities in Sugpon, Ilocos Sur, where police uprooted and destroyed 9,150 marijuana plants valued at P1.83 million.
During the same period, PRO 1 also conducted 29 anti-loose firearms operations, resulting in the accounting of 239 firearms and the arrest of 32 violators.
Of the total firearms accounted for, 23 were confiscated, 170 were voluntarily surrendered, six were recovered, and 40 were deposited with authorities for safekeeping.
