The Mariano Marcos State University (MMSU) officially launched a solar-powered irrigation system at its Dingras Campus on 30 June as part of efforts to transform the site into the university’s primary vegetable production hub.
The facility was formally turned over by National Irrigation Administration (NIA) division manager Engr. Joselito De Vera and accepted by MMSU president Virgilio Julius P. Manzano during a ceremony attended by university officials, faculty members and students.
Manzano said the project strengthens the university’s plan to develop the Dingras Campus into a major vegetable production center that will help supply the needs of its various campuses.
