Army honors Special Forces Regiment on 64th founding anniversary

Philippine Army chief Lt. Gen. Antonio G. Nafarrete lauded the Special Forces Regiment (Airborne) for its 64 years of service during its founding anniversary celebration at Fort Magsaysay in Palayan City, Nueva Ecija.
Serving as guest of honor and speaker during Thursday's ceremony, Nafarrete praised the regiment's professionalism, courage, and dedication to its mission.
"But silent as you may be, your Philippine Army still hears you loud and clear, and we listen. We fully support you and your efforts as we face the challenges of the future," Nafarrete said.
He also highlighted the regiment's six decades of providing critical special operations capabilities that have strengthened the Army's ability to respond to evolving security challenges.
During the ceremony, the Army recognized officers, enlisted personnel, retired soldiers, reservists, civilian human resource personnel, and other stakeholders for their exemplary service and contributions.
The Philippine Army said the Special Forces Regiment continues to play a vital role in enhancing the Armed Forces of the Philippines' mission readiness and defense posture.
Separately, the Philippine Army joined the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in the Philippines and the Philippine Expeditionary Force to Korea (PEFTOK) Veterans Association Inc. in commemorating the 76th anniversary of the Korean War.
A wreath-laying ceremony was held at the Korean War Memorial Pylon at the Libingan ng mga Bayani in Taguig City.
Army Internal Auditor Brig. Gen. Roderick A. Balbanero represented the Philippine Army, while Department of National Defense Undersecretary for Civil, Veteran, and Reserve Affairs Pablo M. Lorenzo served as guest of honor and speaker.
PEFTOK veterans also participated in the ceremony, paying tribute to Filipino soldiers who fought in defense of South Korea during the Korean War.
The Philippine Army said it continues to honor the legacy and sacrifices of Filipino troops whose service helped secure peace and strengthen ties with partner nations.
