A 55-year-old man tagged as a high-value individual was arrested in Alaminos City, Pangasinan on Wednesday afternoon after authorities recovered suspected illegal drugs worth about P170,000 during a search operation.
The suspect was apprehended between 12:15 p.m. and 2:50 p.m. on 11 February 2026 at his residence in Alaminos City. The Philippine National Police in Pangasinan withheld his identity.
Police said the operation was led by the Alaminos City Police Station, with support from the Pangasinan Police Provincial Office, the Regional Intelligence Division of Police Regional Office 1, and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency Pangasinan.
The search was conducted under Search Warrant No. 4-2026 issued by the Executive Judge of Regional Trial Court Branch 54 in Alaminos City for alleged violation of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
Seized from the suspect’s residence were five heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets containing about 25 grams of suspected shabu. Authorities also recovered drug paraphernalia, including a pair of scissors, five disposable lighters, a digital weighing scale, improvised tooters, aluminum foil strips, and a bundle of empty plastic sachets.
Police said the marking and inventory of the seized items were conducted at the scene in the presence of the required witnesses and the suspect, in compliance with legal procedures.
Police Brig. Gen. Dindo R. Reyes, regional director of PRO1, commended the operating units for the successful implementation of the warrant.
"This initiative underscores our unwavering commitment to removing illegal drugs from our streets. By targeting those who distribute these illegal substances and dismantling supply networks, we are working to build a safer, healthier, and drug-secure Region 1," Reyes said.
The suspect is now under police custody and will face charges for violation of Republic Act 9165.
