Mark Arjay Reyes, the fiancé of once-missing bride-to-be Sherra De Juan, released a statement on 30 December on his social media account regarding his partner’s current condition.
Reyes began by expressing gratitude that De Juan has been found, adding that details surrounding her disappearance remain incomplete.
“At this time, we are still not fully aware of everything that happened, as my fiancée is not yet able to clearly remember the entire incident. We respectfully ask for understanding as we allow her the time and space to recover,” Reyes shared.
He added that De Juan’s well-being is their top priority, noting that she requires proper care, rest, and healing after losing weight during her 19-day disappearance.
Reyes also announced that they would be turning over the case entirely to the expertise of authorities.
We will be leaving the matter to the expertise and proper handling of our personnel in uniform. Our full trust is with them as they continue their work with professionalism and care.
He acknowledged the efforts of the Quezon City Police District and the Sison Pangasinan Police.
De Juan returned to her Quezon City home on 29 December, nearly three weeks after she went missing on 10 December. She had earlier told Reyes that she was going out to buy shoes for their wedding, which was scheduled for 14 December.
She was later found in Sison, Pangasinan, wearing clothes different from those she had on the day she disappeared.
