The Beatles are returning to the spotlight as Disney+ streams a fully restored and expanded version of The Beatles Anthology.

Originally created by the band members themselves, The Beatles Anthology tells the story of John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison and Ringo Starr in their own voices.

Viewers follow the Fab Four from their scrappy early days in Liverpool to the height of Beatlemania and their unmatched global fame. The series captures the music, friendship, tension and the creative spark that defined their eight years together.

For this new release, the classic documentary has been beautifully restored. The biggest addition is episode nine, which features never-before-seen footage of Paul, George and Ringo as they worked on the original 1990s Anthology project. The restoration team — working with technicians from Peter Jackson’s Park Road Post — has updated the visuals and sound to bring fans even closer to the band.

With this release, The Beatles Anthology joins other Beatles titles already on Disney+, including Let It BeBeatles ’64, and the award-winning The Beatles: Get Back.

Directed by Oliver Murray (episode nine) and Geoff Wonfor, Bob Smeaton and Matt Longfellow (episodes one to eight), the project is produced by Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr, Olivia Harrison, Sean Ono Lennon, Jonathan Clyde and Martin R. Smith.
