Oscar-nominated actor Colman Domingo is in talks to co-write a live-action film centered on Princess Tiana, inspired by Disney’s 2009 animated hit The Princess and the Frog.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Domingo will collaborate with Tony-nominated director Robert O’Hara on the project, though deals have yet to be finalized. The film is not expected to be a direct remake of The Princess and the Frog, but rather a new story inspired by the beloved animated classic.
The development comes after Disney shelved its planned Princess and the Frog animated series for Disney+, shifting its focus to a new feature centered on Tiana.
Domingo is best known for his acclaimed performances in Rustin, Sing Sing, Euphoria, The Color Purple and Fear the Walking Dead.
