Ormoc City is preparing to usher in the Christmas season with a breathtaking visual spectacle as a collection of illuminated outdoor installations — crafted by globally-acclaimed Filipino designer Kenneth Cobonpue — makes its grand debut on 1 December.
At the heart of the display is a monumental light sculpture inspired by nature’s fluid forms, rendered in Cobonpue’s unmistakable contemporary artistry. Its sweeping contours and radiant hues weave together a vibrant mix of color and texture, turning the city plaza into a glowing open-air gallery once night falls.
The launch event treated attendees to live performances, a short program and the ceremonial lighting that officially opened the installations to the public.
A special concert headlined by the Sessionistas added to the festivities, culminating in a fireworks show to illuminate the Ormoc skyline.
