A driver died while seven others were rescued after their tricycle fell off an irrigation canal at Barangay Bakod Bayan in Cabanatuan City, Nueva Ecija on 19 November 2025.

According to the Nueva Ecija Bureau of Fire Protection Special Rescue Force (NEBFP-SRF), the 48-year-old driver and seven family members were on board their tricycle on Tuesday morning when it fell into the canal.

The driver was identified as Jerry, while rescuers from the NEBFP-SRF and the Cabanatuan Fire Station saved a five-month-old and six-month-old, a three-year-old girl, a four-year-old boy, and three women.

The family was en route to a health center when the incident occurred.
