ALEOSAN, Cotabato — Authorities apprehended a 40-year-old farmer wanted for his alleged involvement in the 2019 Libungan roadside bombing during a joint operation in Barangay San Mateo, Aleosan.
The arrest was carried out by personnel of the Aleosan Municipal Police Station, the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group–Region 12 (CIDG-12), and the Philippine Army’s 34th Infantry Battalion. Police served a warrant issued by the Regional Trial Court, Twelfth Judicial Region, Branch 24 in Midsayap, Cotabato.
The suspect, a resident of Purok 7, Barangay Tonganon in Carmen, Cotabato, is facing charges of multiple frustrated murder and double attempted murder.
He is accused of participating in the bombing along the national highway in Libungan, Cotabato on 22 December 2019 — an attack that left three civilians injured.
The suspect is now under police custody as further investigation continues.
