SARANGANI — The provincial government of Sarangani is continuing rehabilitation and recovery operations for communities affected by the magnitude 7.8 earthquake that struck the region in June.
Governor Rogelio Pacquiao met Monday with officials from the Department of Social Welfare and Development Region 12 to detail ongoing assistance and long-term rehabilitation measures for impacted residents.
As part of inter-province relief efforts, Sarangani received P1.5 million from the provincial government of Bohol, delivered through its Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office, to fund recovery programs.
Pacquiao expressed gratitude to Bohol officials for the financial support and stressed the necessity of sustained coordination among government agencies to ensure assistance reaches affected communities efficiently.
Provincial officials stated that recovery plans extend beyond immediate relief, focusing on restoring local livelihoods, rebuilding damaged infrastructure and strengthening disaster preparedness.
With full rehabilitation expected to require extended time, local leaders emphasized that continued inter-agency cooperation and government support will remain critical to the region’s complete recovery.
