Property giant Megaworld and its real estate investment trust MREIT Inc. scored big wins in championing corporate governance and sustainability at the 2024 Golden Arrow Awards, organized by the Institute of Corporate Directors (ICD).
Megaworld brought home three Golden Arrows this year, marking the fourth consecutive time that the company’s corporate governance initiatives were recognized by the ICD. In 2022, it received one Golden Arrow, followed by two in 2023 and 2024, and now three, underscoring the company’s consistent pursuit of business excellence.
MREIT Inc. also earned two Golden Arrows, while another subsidiary, Empire East Land Holdings, got one Golden Arrow.
“These recognitions reflect the integrity, discipline, and accountability that guide Megaworld. Good corporate governance is a principle we live by in creating value for our stakeholders and communities. This honor belongs to every member of our organization who shares our commitment to excellence and trust,” says Lourdes Gutierrez-Alfonso, president and CEO, Megaworld.
AGI, the parent company of Megaworld, and its subsidiary Emperador Inc. also secured two Golden Arrows each, highlighting the group’s steadfast commitment to ethical leadership and sound governance across its diversified portfolio and expanding global footprint.
A prestigious recognition program that recognizes corporate transparency, board effectiveness, and stakeholder engagement, the Golden Arrows Awards celebrate companies that demonstrate excellence in corporate governance based on the ASEAN Corporate Governance Scorecard (ACGS) and the Corporate Governance Scorecard (CGS).
