TALAVERA, Nueva Ecija – A man stabbed a fellow passenger to death inside a bus while it was passing through Barangay Pinagpanaan in Talavera on the evening of 25 October 2025.
Witnesses said the Genesis bus was traveling from Baler, Aurora, and was about to unload cargo near a bridge when the incident occurred.
As the conductor opened the compartment below the bus, a commotion broke out, prompting most passengers to flee the vehicle.
The driver told the conductor that one passenger had stabbed another. The conductor said he was surprised, noting that the two men had not spoken to each other during the trip.
Some witnesses suggested the suspect may have mental health issues, saying he appeared to be whispering to himself prior to the incident.
Police responding to the scene arrested the suspect, who remained near the bridge. Witnesses said he did not attempt to flee and simply circled around the bus.
