The Philippine Postal Corporation (PHLPost) has released a special commemorative stamp honoring Pope Leo XIV to mark his historic election as the 268th Supreme Pontiff of the Roman Catholic Church.
As a predominantly Catholic nation, the Philippines joins the global Catholic community in celebrating the event. The stamp issue pays tribute to Pope Leo XIV’s spiritual leadership and his commitment to compassion, inclusivity and global unity, values that resonate with Filipinos.
Pope Leo XIV has a special connection with the Philippines, having served as a missionary in Cebu and other parts of the country.
The stamp designs feature portraits of the pope alongside symbols of his papacy. Pope-themed stamps are highly sought after by collectors worldwide for their historical value, limited availability and artistic detail.
PHLPost has printed 10,000 copies of the commemorative stamp, which are priced at P17 each. A matching First Day Cover is also available for purchase at the Postshop in the Manila Central Post Office.
