Operatives of the Eastern Police District's Special Operations Unit on Monday arrested the district's third most wanted fugitive in Barangay Tumana, Marikina City for multiple counts of rape and sexual assault.
The suspect, identified only by the alias “Ger,” 42, a security guard and resident of Marikina City, was nabbed by virtue of a warrant of arrest issued by the Marikina City Family Court Branch 7.
Police said the charges stemmed from a complaint filed by a 9-year-old victim who was allegedly raped by the suspect, a relative, multiple times from July to November 2020.
The victim initially remained silent about the abuse but eventually told her father, which led to a formal complaint. After four years of case buildup, the arrest was carried out.
The suspect was brought to the District’s Special Operations Unit for documentation and was scheduled to undergo physical and medical examination at Amang Rodriguez Memorial Medical Center.
He was later turned over to the Marikina City Police Station custodial facility for temporary detention.
