National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) officer-in-charge Police Brig. Gen. Christopher Abrahano has ordered the immediate evaluation and summary dismissal proceedings against a Manila police officer accused of drawing his service firearm and kicking an electric bicycle driver in Tondo, Manila.

In a statement issued Sunday Abrahano directed the Manila Police District (MPD) and NCRPO disciplinary offices to fast-track administrative action and ensure all physical and testimonial evidence is documented according to established police regulations.

The officer faces criminal charges of grave threats and physical injuries stemming from the incident.

Abrahano stressed that wearing a police uniform and carrying a government-issued firearm are public responsibilities that demand discipline, restraint and respect for individual rights rather than privileges that grant immunity.

"Let this serve as a clear warning to every police officer: your badge and firearm do not put you above the law," Abrahano said.

"Anyone who uses police authority to threaten, intimidate, or harm another person will be held accountable. I will not tolerate behavior that betrays the trust placed in us by the public," he added.

The NCRPO chief directed all police commanders across Metro Manila to closely monitor the conduct of their personnel, act immediately on complaints of abuse, and refer erring officers for formal disciplinary action.
