PSEi slips 41 points as profit-taking weighs on afternoon trade

The Philippine Stock Exchange index (PSEi) slipped by 50.74 points, or 0.78 percent, to 6,474.30 in afternoon trading on 15 July 2025, as investors took profits following a flat start.

The benchmark index opened slightly higher at 6,529.94 before retreating after recess. The broader market saw mixed sentiment, with gainers narrowly outnumbering losers in early trades, only to reverse later in the day.

DigiPlus Interactive Corp. (PLUS) continued to lead activity with P200.4 million in trades, though its stock declined by 2.78 percent to P35. Globe Telecom, Inc. (GLO) followed closely with P185.4 million in trades, shedding 2.97 percent to P1,635. GT Capital Holdings, Inc. (GTCAP) was the third most active, rising slightly by 0.58 percent to P694.

Among top advancers, Lodestar Investment Holdings Corporation (LODE) held its early surge, rising 49.59 percent to P0.365. PH Resorts Group Holdings, Inc. (PHR) and Citystate Savings Bank, Inc. (CSB) also maintained gains of 21.23 percent and 19.82 percent, respectively.

On the other end, Prime Media Holdings, Inc. (PRIM) led the day’s biggest losers with a 14.12 percent drop to P1.46, followed by SOCResources, Inc. (SOC), which fell 9 percent, and DFNN, Inc., down 8.63 percent.

The peso stood at P56.40 to the US dollar as of 1:58 PM, based on data from the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas.
