Beermen hang tough, survive huge Dyip scare
The Philippine Stock Exchange index (PSEi) edged down 4.44 points, or 0.07 percent, to 6,391.13 as of midday trading on 7 July 2025, reflecting a cautious mood among investors.
DigiPlus Interactive Corp. (PLUS) led trading activity with over P1.35 billion in value, climbing 20.34 percent to P35.50. Other most active stocks included Globe Telecom, Inc. (GLO), which fell 2.82 percent to P1,657.00, and Philippine Seven Corporation (SEVN), which rose 3.01 percent to P47.90.
Top gainers included Berjaya Philippines, Inc. (BCOR), which advanced 16.47 percent to P7.00, and Philweb Corporation (WEB), which gained 14.73 percent to P2.96.
Meanwhile, Island Information & Technology, Inc. (IS) posted the sharpest decline of the day so far, tumbling 30.56 percent to P0.10. Lodestar Investment Holdings Corporation (LODE) and DoubleDragon Corporation (DD) also saw notable losses, down 17.39 percent and 9.85 percent, respectively.
At 1:13 PM, the peso stood at 56.40 to the US dollar.
