Bagac, Bataan — The Zoobic Safari Corporation has established temporary animal shelters inside the compound of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources’ (DENR) community office here.
These shelters aim to support the government agency's wildlife rescue efforts.
DENR Regional Executive Director Ralph Pablo said the initiative addresses the urgent need for adequate temporary holding areas for rescued wildlife.
He added that the limited number of holding facilities has become a pressing challenge, especially with the increasing number of animal turnovers from citizens, organizations, and government partners.
"The newly installed enclosures are designed to provide safe and secure environments for rescued animals while ensuring compliance with wildlife handling protocols," he said.
Pablo expressed gratitude to Zoobic Safari Corporation for supporting wildlife conservation in Central Luzon. He emphasized the importance of coordinated efforts between the government and private sector in advancing biodiversity protection initiatives.
"Through this collaboration, the DENR community office in Bagac has become more capable as a receiving center and temporary sanctuary for rescued fauna," he said.
