Julia Montes has finally addressed the viral speculation amusing — and confusing — netizens since the release of Saving Grace: Is Zia Grace really the daughter of Coco Martin?
In a recent interview with veteran journalist Karen Davila, Julia opened up about the online buzz linking her and Coco Martin to the child star Zia Grace, who plays a pivotal role in the film. The striking resemblance between the young actress and the FPJ’s Batang Quiapo lead has sparked playful speculation online, with fans dubbing Zia the supposed “love child” of Julia and Coco.
“Actually, hindi pa po ako natatanong din kasi,” Julia said, laughing. “Si Zia kasi, ’pag tinignan mo talaga, ka-feature talaga ni Coco. So even kami, ’pag nag-uusap kami, ‘Co, talagang mapagkakamalang anak natin ’yan kasi nga kamukha.’”
Though amused, Julia took a moment to gently clarify the rumors, noting her concern for Zia’s real family — especially her mother, who is new to showbiz. “Nakakaawa naman kay Tita, mommy ni Zia. Bago pa lang sila sa industriya,” she said.
Still, Julia added that young Zia is handling the attention well and seems unfazed by the chatter.
