As the Catholic world celebrates the election of Pope Leo XIV, Colegio San Agustin-Biñan looks back with pride and reverence on the 2010 visit of the then-Prior General, Fr. Robert Francis Prevost, O.S.A. — now the 267th Pontiff of the Roman Catholic Church.
In September 2010, Fr. Prevost traveled to the Philippines for the Intermediate General Chapter of the Order of Saint Augustine, a global gathering of Augustinian leaders. Among the communities he visited was Colegio San Agustin in Biñan, Laguna — an encounter now etched even more deeply in the school’s history.
Long before ascending to the papacy, Fr. Prevost was known for his humble leadership and profound spirituality — qualities that endeared him to many during his tenure as head of the Augustinian Order.
Now known to the world as Pope Leo XIV, his connection to the Filipino Augustinian community stands as a source of joy and inspiration for the faithful in the Philippines.
